Hey there! I'm Sangeeta, the person behind this website and all of the content you'll find on it!

When I was a little girl, I had a big imagination and an unbelievably strong need to create. I wrote my first "novel" in the pages of a Kim Possible notebook and spent a lot of my elementary school years forcing my friends and visiting family members to participate in the films I made on my parents camcorder. I grew up in Oregon, which is an unimaginably inspiring place to grow up, and the desire to create and connect with others through the stories I could tell only grew as I got older.

In college, I decided I was going to be an archaeologist. I can trace the roots of that decision back to my fifth-grade teacher, Mrs. Murillo, and her incredible unit on Mesoamerican prehistory that demanded constant participation. It was basically a roleplay game which we all took so seriously. I remember being entranced by the thought that people of the past were just people, and I still am fascinated by what they would have considered mundane. Like... what would someone my age have thought about? If we could talk, what would we have in common?

After college, I left Oregon behind for Washington D.C. with big museum dreams. I was a tour guide at Mount Vernon (George Washington's mansion) for a while, but I realized I needed a change. So I pivoted into the web content world, and that is where I still am today professionally - and I'm honestly thrilled about it. It's the right balance of routine and creativity.

Outside of work, I work on the stuff you'll find on this website including design work and my upcoming podcast/video essay series. I'm so lucky to get to do everything that I do, and I'm excited to have the chance to share it with you.

Thank you for reading this - and I hope you enjoy my work!

xoxo, Sangeeta
